OMBRE AND MICROBLADING

Microblading Treatment

What Is Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows. Pigment is scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes that resemble hair, using a hand tool with a blade made of tiny needles.

This treatment is ideal for those with sparse eyebrows, or anyone looking for a realistic-looking brow. Microblading is also perfect for achieving the popular full and fluffy brow look. Post-treatment, the pigment will lighten by about 20-40%, which is why the initial color may seem darker. Don’t worry—this is normal, and the color will gradually fade over the first week.

Ombre Powder (Nano) Brows

Ombre powder brows are a semi-permanent makeup treatment where tiny dots of pigment are inserted into the skin using either a digital machine or a handheld tool. This technique creates a more shaded effect, unlike the crisp hair strokes of microblading. The result is a fuller, more defined brow, similar to the look achieved with eyebrow powders or pencils.

Ombre brows can take 3-5 weeks to heal fully. Initially, the color will be darker for the first 3-4 days, and then it will begin to scab over as part of the healing process. It’s important not to pick at the scabs to avoid removing the pigment. The scabs will fall off naturally, revealing the final healed brows.

Microblading vs. Ombre Brows

On average, microblading lasts up to one year, while ombre brows can last up to three years. However, this can vary depending on skin type, skincare routine, and other factors. Those with oily skin may notice that microblading fades more quickly and might want to opt for ombre powder brows instead.

Despite being semi-permanent, both techniques will fade over time. The healing process is similar for both, with a touch-up required around 3-5 weeks after the initial procedure.

Combination Brows

Combination brows blend the hair strokes of microblading with the shading of ombre brows for a defined yet natural look. This technique offers the best of both worlds, giving you structured and full brows that look realistic.

Brow Mapping

Brow mapping is a technique used before performing microblading or ombre brows.  Create the ideal brow shape for your face. Specialists take multiple measurements of your brows and eyes to determine your perfect shape. This ensures that each client receives a bespoke and unique brow shape to enhance their features.

Microblading and Ombre Brows Aftercare

1. Blotting:

For the first few hours after treatment, gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Continue until the oozing stops to prevent buildup and scabbing.

2. Cleaning

For the next 2-10 days, gently wash your eyebrows (using a patting motion) morning and night with water and soap or a gentle cleanser. Cleanse lightly for 10 seconds and rinse thoroughly. Ensure all soap is rinsed off, and pat dry with a clean tissue.

Avoid cleansers containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or exfoliants.

3. Moisturizing:

Apply a cotton swab to a rice-grain-sized amount of aftercare ointment. The ointment should be barely visible on the skin and should not be applied to wet brows. Excessively oily skin may not require ointment at all.

4. Additional Tips:

  • Keep your face away from the showerhead when bathing.

  • Avoid soaking your brows in water (baths, pools, etc.) for 14 days

  • Avoid saunas or hot yoga for 14 days.

  • Use a sweatband to keep sweat off your brows during exercise.

  • After 14 days, apply sunscreen to protect the pigment from fading.

  • Do not pick at flakes during the healing process.

  • Avoid makeup on the brows while healing.

  • If your brows get wet, gently pat them dry—do not rub.

  • Inform your doctor of your treatment if you’re undergoing an MRI or medical procedure.

  • Let your nurse know if you’re giving blood after your procedure, as this may affect your results.
